Description
- Description. This robust, extraordinarily rich oil is produced in limited quantities. Handmade from early harvest olives and pressed immediately, it has a distinct peppery aftertaste and vibrant green color. Albereto is best savored alone, on bread, or drizzled over soups, pasta and beans.
Bill’s twist. Albereto is an early harvest EVOO. This intense Tuscan baby has to be Aretha Franklin—big and powerful with pure, soulful harmony. Serious WOW factor, here.
About the estate. Situated at an altitude of 450m and cultivated using organic farming methods, the olive trees are completely surrounded by the woods of Badia a Coltibuono, in an uncontaminated environment where the microclimate makes it possible to avoid treating the plants with pesticides. Fertilizers of an exclusively organic nature are used with a prevalence of the use of manure.
Suggested uses. Flavor style: Robust. This extraordinarily rich, full-flavored artisan oil is produced in limited quantities from the highest groves on the Coltibuono estate. Albereto is produced from several varieties of olives, principally Frantoio, Pendolino and Leccino, with smaller quantities of Moraiolo and Maurino. It’s left deliberately unfiltered to achieve full expression of the oil’s aroma and flavor. Hand-made from the early harvest olives, which are pressed immediately, it has a distinct peppery aftertaste and vibrant green color. Its low peroxide content deters rancidity and is associated with high levels of vitamin E, A and K. Albereto is best savored alone, on bread, or drizzled over soups, pasta and beans.
